AMPATH Global Announces Cross-Partnership Grant Program

The AMPATH Global partnership recently launched a Cross-Partnership Grant Program that provides seed funding to advance cross-partnership collaboration and global partnership for mutual growth across AMPATH priority areas. The program supports projects that strengthen reciprocal learning, innovation, and sustainability—especially those that involve in-country institutions and show potential for scale or replication. 

Current funding cycle: FY2027 – Projects starting July 1, 2026 

WHO CAN APPLY 

  • Primary applicants must be AMPATH Health or Academic Partner Institutions. 
    At least one AMPATH Consortium member must participate as a collaborator (not as the lead applicant). 

  • Preference is given to cross-partnership proposals that link two or more AMPATH partnership locations. 

PRIORITY AREAS 

Projects should align with one of AMPATH’s multi-partnership priorities: 

  • Non-communicable Diseases 

  • Maternal and Child Health 

  • Research Capacity Building 

  • Strengthening Care Systems 

  • Clinical Skills Training (faculty/staff exchanges) 

FUNDING AND TIMELINE AT A GLANCE 

  • Typical award size: $10,000–$15,000 

  • Typical number of awards: 4–5 

  • Project period: 12–24 months

Info session: We expect to host an information session for interested applicants. Details and registration will be posted here when available. 

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS 

  1. Submit a Letter of Intent (LOI)

  2. Eligible LOIs are reviewed and selected applicants are invited to submit a full proposal. 

  3. Full proposals are reviewed and funding decisions are finalized by the AMPATH Global Leadership Group.
