Eduardo Mendoza

Direct Relief Mexico

Eduardo Mendoza is the Director of Direct Relief Mexico, overseeing the organization’s management and daily operations. He holds a degree in Political Science and Latin American & Iberian Studies and a master’s in Global & International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

He has worked with Direct Relief since 2008 where he first worked in Mexico during the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic. This experience led him to establish a strong commitment to Mexico and future emergency response efforts there.

Since the founding of Direct Relief Mexico, A.C., in 2014, he has played a key role in responding to the 2017 earthquakes, distributing pediatric cancer medications, transporting polio vaccines to Central America, and strengthening Mexico’s healthcare system.

In 2021 and 2022, his team helped deliver over 17 million COVID-19 vaccines and 9 million units of personal protective equipment to Mexico, enhancing the country’s pandemic response.

He has also worked with non-profit organizations and local, state, and federal authorities in response to hurricanes Otis and John, which struck Guerrero, Mexico in 2023 and 2024.
