Start with care. Then do more.

The Need

HEALTHCARE IS ONLY THE BEGINNING.

As people around the world continue to become more interconnected, we’re increasingly confronted with the truth: not everyone has access to the healthcare they so desperately need. But healthcare is only the start of truly sustainable health and prosperity.

The Solution

WE START WITH CARE. THEN DO MORE. MUCH MORE.

At the core of AMPATH is the belief that long-term, sustainable global health goes beyond immediate treatment. Education, jobs, communities, and health are deeply connected – which is why we work together to empower people in all areas of their lives.

To achieve this vision, our global network builds partnerships of mutual trust and respect between universities and academic health centers to strengthen health systems, tackle health disparities, train future global health leaders, and foster healthcare research and innovation around the world.

OUR GLOBAL NETWORK IS EXPANDING.

AMPATH began with a partnership between Indiana University in the U.S. and Moi University in Kenya. 30 years later, demand for better care and health systems built on a partnership model is driving our expansion to Ghana, Mexico and Nepal.

THE AMPATH CONSORTIUM

The AMPATH Consortium is a network of academic health centers that aims to foster long-term, equitable and cross-cultural partnerships with host health centers and universities that serve populations with significant unmet needs. Each institution brings their own perspective and provides its own opportunities for medical trainee exchange programs and hands-on education, in the U.S., Canada and across the globe.

Indiana University leads the AMPATH Consortium and serves as secretariat for AMPATH Global.
